The Bridge Street Gallery, Berwick upon Tweed has its soft opening from this weekend, with a full opening at the end of November. Taking over from the Irving Gallery, the concept behind the new gallery is to allocate dedicated display areas to individual artists, with each area curated by the artist. In addition there is an area reserved for a guest artist. The emphasis is towards contemporary works.
The following artists are displaying works:
Paul Kenny, Penny Cuthbert, Gill Walton, John Fieldhouse, Chris Vine, Simon Harwood, Deborah Boyd Whyte, Yvonne Parr, Michael Bergin, Mark Irving and Ian Moutter.
The week has seen a lot of activity, with the artists organising their space and hanging works. During November the concept will come fully together, with a full opening near the end of the month.
